MR. LYONS NATIONAL CANDIDATE

CHRISTCHURCH, May 15

Mr. M. E. Lyons, a member of the Christchurch City Council and Secretary to the Canterbury Agricultural ami Pastoral Association, was to-night announced as the National Parly s candidate for the Christchurch South by-election, which is to be held on Saturday, June 3. The writ was issued to-day, and the roll closed al 6 p.m.

Mr. Lyons has previously contested Parliamentary elections, and stood for Lyttelton more than once.
