DISASTROUS FIRE
OUTBREAK AT LEVIN.

LEVIN. May 15.
The most, disastrous fire for many years swept the heart of the business area of Leyin at midnight on Sunday, causing damage estimated at £4OOO. It was two hours before it was suppressed.
The fire began in premises occupied by Horton Foley, printer, and owned by G. K. Douglas. The building was completely destroyed.
'flic fire extended to the roof of adjoining premises, owned and occupied by Fuen Koy Leong, fruiterer, whose stock of vegetables and fruit was extensively damaged by fire and water.
An outbreak in W. Stannard’s stationery premises was extinguished immediately, but the stock suffered some damage, amounting to about £BOO.
Mr. Foley will be a heavy loser. Leong’s stock is insured for £6OO in the Liverpool, London, and Globe Office,, and the shop for £lOOO. Stannard’s stock was insured for £l5OO in the Victoria Company.
