CANTERBURY WOMEN’S TITLE [per press association.] CHRISTCHURCH, April 15. The finals of the women’s golf championship of Canterbury and the Shirley Trophy were decided this morning at Shirley under ideal conditions. The finalists in the championship were Miss V. Fleming, who has already won the title on three occasions, and Miss Zoe Hudson. Both players started well, and produced excellent golf to the turn, which was reached in 38, where Miss Fleming was 1 up. In the home run, Miss Fleming played even better golf, whereas her opponent weakened. Miss Fleming secured her fourth title at the fifteenth. Results: — Championship Final. —Miss V. Fleming beat Miss Z. Hudson, 5 and 3. Shirley Trophy. —Mrs. E. C. Chartres beat Mrs. J. B. Nicoll, 3 and 1. Bogev handicaps played at Russley resulted.—A. grade: J. P. Gilmour (2), 5 up. B. grade: H. W. Anderson (13), 4 up.
