SEAMAN’S BODY
FOUND AT CAPE FOULWIND [per press association.] WESTPORT, March 11. Tile body of Herbert Scollay, single l , 35. who 'Was reported missing from the ;-t( amer Kaimai on the evening of February 28, was discovered to-day on the rocks at Cape Foulwind, where it had been, washed up by the sea. The body was in an advanced state- of deconi position, and identification vas only possible by members of the crew cf the Kaimai, now in port, by clothing and other belongings. Scollay signed on the ship at Auckland on Feb!nary 23. His parents are believed to reside at T’ort Chalmers. Before (he Kaimai left Westport for Auckland on February' 28 Scollay was noticed at his work on the ropes, but after an hour at sea be was missed from the ship. Captain Rowlands turned the vessel round, and searched for Scollay. with no result, and the matter was reported at Westport and Auckland. The body was found by Mr. H. Sutherland, who was fishing cn the beach. An inquest will be held to-morrow.
