Tureti I’araire Turua, a young Maori, appeaired before Mr Miller, S.M.. this morning, charged with unlawful con version of a car on January 1 I.
Dctective-Sergt. Revell. on asking that bail he substantial, said that, another charge was pending. v
Bail was fixed’ at .£2OO own recognisance and another surety of £2OO.
The charge was a sequel to the conversion of two curs on Saturday night. Both cars Taken were wrecked, the first, after colliding with a parked car, and the second by being driven into a l roe.
Bloodstains found in the second can' suggested to the police that the driver had been injured. As a result of inquiries, a Maori was picked up ou the main Napier-Hastings highway yesterday.
