WATERSIDE DISPUTE SYDNEY. January 17

The waterside workers at Woolongong, last night, failed to agree on the acceptance or rejection of the basis of settlement of the pie-iron dispute, the meeting was adjourned.

MUTINOUS PRISONERS. SYDNEY. January 17. Two prisoners, responsible for attacks on warders at Bathurst gaol, were each sentenced to 28 days’ solitary confinement. A third prisoner was sentenced to ten days’ solitary confinement. Tiie prisoners who created the disturbances last week have been removed to other prisons throughout the State. The hunger strike ended when the prisoners realised that the authorities would not take any notice of their refusal to cat.
