BLOMFIELD DEFEATS NUMA WELLINGTON, September 5. At the Wellington Town Hall tonight, “Lofty” Blomfield, New Zealand professional heavy-weight champion, beat Leo Numa, of Seattle, by two falls to one. The contest was marked more by roughhouse tactics than by straight wrestling. Blomfield obtained a fall with a Boston crab in the fourth round, and Numa evened with his specialty hammer throw in the sixth. The seventh round was given over to elbow jolting, and the crowded house was raised to a frenzy of enthusiasm as they bowled each other over. Though | both were so dazed that they could scarcely stand, the fighting spirit kept Blomfield jolting, and eventually the American wilted, and Blomfield obtained the deciding fall.
