J GREY DEFENCE CLUB. ! The fourth and 1 fifth competitions j for Batron (E. R. Moss) trophies was fired’ off on the Cohd'enl ramge during’ l the week-end. and marked the' close g£ the season. Rifleman A. Sloss was the winner with, an aggregate of 404, Rifleman S. Davy being' second: with 397. In the fourth competition, S. Davy scored 102, off the rifle, and thereby wins for the time a gold plate kindly donated by F. E. Stent. His score card read: —11 shots 1 at 300 yards 3—5. 5,5, 5. I. 5,4, 5,5, 5, 5. Total 53. 10 shots at 500 yards, 44 — 5. 5. I. 5. 5, 5. 5,5, 5, 5. Total 49. Grand total 102. Tile following were the leading scores (conditions 11 ehots at 300 yards, and 10 shots at 500 yards. The first competition shoot for Mr I. Bennington's trophy was tired off on ■the club's range last evening. RHamilton won the Ilotty Button with a line shoot, of 79. RUXANGA CLUB. The Runanga Miniature Rifle Chib's weekly shoot, was held on Tuesday evening, when the club's trophy of three shoots was decided. J. Mossop was Hie winner with 237 out of a possible 240. He also won the Hotly Button with 75 off the rifle. Scores: — Score H’cap J'otal

in the Anisy Shield match. Mr. Moore reported that the Junior Advisory Board had appointed Messrs. B. Rathbun, J. Medlin and W. Moore as schoolboy representative selectors, and that it, had been decided to play the schoolboy matches fortnightly instead of weekly. Also, that, in future tiie Board had decided to impose a period of suspension on all players ordered off, irrespective of whether they were first offenders or not. The Referees’ Association advised that the question of a referee ordering off a player whom ho considered to be unlit for play, through injury, had been discussed at the last meeting. and it had been decided to write to the New Zealand Association for a ruling on the matter. The members' of the New Zealand Rugby League team, who watched New South Wales 1 men’ training to-day, were given a civic reception by the Lord Mayor (Alderm'an Nock), in the City Town Hall. He expressed the hope that an exchange of visits between New Zealand and New South "Wales teams would become more 1 frequent.
