WEATHER FORECAST. General inference: An anti-cyclone is centred east of the South Island, a series of westerly depressions is advancing across the South Tasman Sea, but at present, they are shallow and have little energy. Forecast: Light, to moderate easterly winds prevailing at first, but later turning to northerly. Weather fine with pleasant day, but cool night, temperatures, and some frosts inland. Sea slight to moderate.
