AUSTRALIAN CRICKETERS
GOODWILL IN ENGLAND [BY CABLE—PEESH ASSN.-—CQPYBIGIIT.] LONDON, April 26. The special correspondent of the Australian Associated Press with the Australian cricketers, says: “Illustrating the cordiality of cricket relations between England and Australia, G. O. Allen and R. W. V. Robins dined with D. G. Bradman and his team at the Australians’ hotel, after which they went to a theatre together. Thus the goodwill characterising the team’s reception is not confined to public appearances. “Compared with their pessimism two months ago. English critics are taking a more cheerful line, though there lias been nothing but two Australian practices on which to revise their calculations. The Australians feel that the English critics are focusing their attention on Bradman, under-estimating the talent of the new blood, for instance, C. L. Badcock. some of whose-colleagues expect him to become in 1938 what. Bradman was in 1930. “He’s a killer, that boy,” was the comment of a team-mate after reading another batch of comment implying that once Bradman is out, half the battle is won.
