WASHINGTON, February 10. A bill for the construction of 10 selfliquidating trans-continental super highways at a cost of 8,000,000,000 dollars, will be introduced by Senator Robert Bulkley. Mr. Roosevelt is believed to favour the project. HARRY BRIDGES. SAN FRANCISCO, February 10. Mr. Harry Bridges telegraphed to Senator R. S. Copeland, demanding an opportunity to give evidence before the Senate Maritime Committee, as to why he should not be deported from the United States. BRITISH ART EXHIBITION. RUGBY, February 9. The exhibition of British art in Paris, which will begin on March 4, will occupy five rooms at the Louvre, and will probably be opened by the President (M. Lebrun). Works by Gainsborough, Hogarth, Turner, and Rossetti will be among those sent to Paris by the National Gallery. Loans by the King, which are exceptional, will be made, and some pictures from Queen Mary’s collection, as well as outstanding works from important private collections in England, will be on view.
