Asked whether the Government still adhered to its policy o£ partition in Palestine, the Colonial Secretary told the Commons that it still did so, but until the mandate was amended by the League Council, it could not be altered by any Act of the British Government. Mr Ormsby Gore added that the Government regarded the policy of partition as the best means of implementing the proposed establishment of a Jewish national home in Palestine.
