CORONATION TREE-PLANTING
INFORMATION REQIT 1R ED Advice has been received from the High Commissioner that the Coronation Planting Committee are preparing for the acceptance of the King, a record in book form, to be known as the Royal Record, of all planting and amenity schemes organised in commemoration of the Coronation,/both in the United Kingdom and the Empire overseas. The committee has received details of some 2,000 important schemes in the United Kingdom, and knowing that many plantings have taken place in New Zealand, arc desirous of obtaining certain particulars in order that, these may be recorded in the Special Empire section of the Record. The Government has been requested to assist by furnishing particulars of such planting and beautifying schemes as art? known to have been organised in the Dominion. Hon. P. C. Webb, for the Minister of Internal Affairs, has communicated with local authorities, distributing to each a supply of forms on which may be set out the particulars required by the committee. Citizens and organisations which have carried out plantings are asked to apply at. the office of the local authority of their district for the necessary information and forms. As it is desired that preparation of the Royal Record should be completed al an early date, all interested are asked to obtain and complete the forms as soon as possible.
