To-night’s radio messages state that the MacDhui’s passengers comprised 38 Europeans, all residents of New Guinea, and 150 native labourers, who were returning to their villages. The vessel carried ti crew of So, who were kept aboard to light the fire, which put the engines completely out of action. There are no visible signs of tire in No. 4 hold, which is now believed to be under control. The Neptuna, which is towing the MacDhui. is expected to reach Salamaiia some time to-night.
