The Waterloo Cup coursing meeting concluded on Saturday in fine weather. An unusual position arose in the cup contest, two semi-finals being Tun by the same owners, Wing and Butcher, of Mas ter ton.
Waterloo Cup.—Semi-final: Wing and Butcher’s (Masterton), Why' Hu'rry (Why Worry—Gay Parade) beat Archer Bros.’ (Carterton), Golden King (Golden Wings—Jack’s Lady), Wing and Butcher’s Rereatu (Duco — Silver Hope) beat R. Watson’s (Waihi) Tonatoe (Cin Path—Worthy Queen). No final was run. The finals of the other events resulted: —
Waterloo Plate.—D. Grumwoods’ (Masterton) Roy beat G. Willis’s (Patea) Blue Leather. Waterloo Purse. —C. Huon’s (Waihi) Bonanza beat Muir and Ruddy’s (Christchurch) Beat. The open stake and supplementary' stakes were also decided.
