SHIPPING NOTES.

Rata arrived early this morning, from Westport, and is to sail to-night, for Nelson and Picton.

Kalingo’s loading was delayed by congestion on the wharf, and she is now to sail at 11 o’clock to-night, for Wellington. Kauri was also delayed, but is expected to complete loading for despatch to Melbourne and Adelaide, ( at 11.30 o’clock. to-night. Karu is loading timber for Petone, Wellington and Miramar. She is expected to return on May 6, to load for the same ports. Kaimai leaves New Plymouth to-day, and is due to-morrow - night to load coal for Wellington and Miramar. Kartigi left Auckland on Monday via Portland and Westport. She is due here on Saturday to complete loading coal and timber for Auckland and Portland.

Kaimiro loaded Greymouth cargo at. Auckland yesterday, and is due, via Portland and Wellington, on May 5, to load coal for Wellington. Hokitika is to leave Wellington tonight, with general cargo for Greymouth and Hokitika, and is due here on Saturday morning. Titoki is /due on Saturday, from Wanganui, to load coal for Tarakohe.

James Cook is due on Sunday afternoon, from Lyttelton, to load timber for Sydney and NeAvcastle. U.S.S. Company vessel is due about May 10, to load coal, timber and posts for Gisborne and Waikokopu. OTHER PORTS. LONDON, April 28. Arrived, at New York, Saugsburg. Sailed, Mariposa, from San Francisco.
