The United States Government will officially, enter the liquor business on April 15 by placing on the American market 5(1,000 cases of rum distilled in ths Virgin Islands. This consignment is the first remit of an expenditure of £500.000 in no work, of a relief project, started > tin. spring of 1931 on a piece of .nd-5,000 acres in extent, containing

two mills and a distillery. About 500,000 gallons of rum have been produced already, but some of it is not yet aged sufficiently for consumption. The liquor, which experts claim is,’ excellent, has an entirety different taste from Cuban or Jamaican rum. It will be sold in lhe shops here at S'/- a bottle.
