YUKON TERRITORY

CONTROL AGREEMENT [by CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] VICTORIA, April 27. The Premier (Mr. T. D. Patullo) announced that an agreement had been reached with the Federal Government for the acquisition of the Yukon Territory by British Columbia, subject to approval by the legislature of the Province.

The terms of the agreement are that the Federal Government will retain the Departments of Posts and Telegraphs, National Revenue, Justice, and Indian Affairs. The Federal Government will also pay to the Province 125,000 dollars annually for the next five years to meet expenditure on reservations for the use of the Indian population. The site of these reservations is to be mutually agreed upon later.
