Hon. G. R. Hunter, M.L.C., arrived; yesterday, from Christchurch.
Mrs H. D. James and Miss M. James returned yesterday, from a visit to Christchurch.
A Moscow cablegram stated that M. Grigory Grinko, Soviet Finance Commissar, received Mr W. Nash, who is retuirning to London.
Mr;E. W. Barnes, President of the New Zealand Railway Officers’ Institute, left last evening, on return to Wellington.
Guests at Revington’s include: Mr. J. Galloway (Dunedin), Mr. N. W. Bates (Christchurch), Mr. E. P. Gfocott (Wellington), Mr. P. Cohen (Hastings), Mr. K. Hamilton (Auckland).
Mr. M. Dallas, manager of the Greymouth branch of McKenzie’s Ltd., has received notice of transfer to Whangarei, and will leave on Friday. He will be replaced by Mr. Donnelly, of Whangarei.
The appointment of E. F. Harvie, at present flying instructor to the Manawatu Aero Club, as flying instructor to the Hawke’s Bay and E. C. Aero Club, is announced. Mr. Harvie replaces Flight-Lieut. A. G. Rawnsley.— Press Assn.
