INTOXICATION CHARGES
DRIVER'S PLEA ACCEPTED

WELLINGTON, April 19
Evidence brought by Robert Burns, 25, lorry driver and butcher, to show that ho was dazed with shock, as the result of an accident to the car he was driving, was accepted by Mt; W. F. Stillwell, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court. to-day. when Burns was charged with being intoxicated when in charge of a car on the JohnsonvillePorirua road on April 10. The charge was dismissed.
According to the evidence for the defence, the car had Io swerve to avoid an oncoming car, with bright lights, and it. ran into a ditch and hit a post. Burns being shocked and slightly injured. Accused himself sent .for the policy- and doctor. He had had three drinks during the afternoon and nothing since. Edward Stanley Beltridgo. 25. wire worker. was fined U 5. and his
licence was cancelled for nine months, for intoxication when in charge of ;i motor cycle in the city on April 17.
