RUMANIAN SENSATION
QUEEN MARIE’S ILLNESS POISON PLOT SUSPECTED, ■ [by CABLE —TRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] LONDON, March 15. The Bucharest correspondent of the “Daily. Telegraph.” says that the Dowager Queen Marie of Rumania is seriously ill. For two days the country has been kept in complete ignorance because she is suffering from poisoning. General Udarenu, Marshal of the Court, was taken seriously ill simultaneously. He is suffering from similar symptoms, but his complaint is described as appendicitis. There are grave suspicious of the possibility of sinister.reasons, especially in view of the' elaborate police and military precautions, and the rigid censorship of news. The Bucharest correspondent of the British United Press says a member of Queen Marie’s staff has issued the following statement: — “Queen Marie has had a. slight attack of influenza ■ for. ;th,e last three days. She is now much improved. She -is remaining in her private apartments, but is not confined to bed.” CONDITION IMPROVED. BUCHAREST, March 15. Queen Marie’s condition is reported to have improved considerably overnight.
