The coastal areas of New” South Wales have been deluged with rain in the past 24 hours, and it is still falling in torrents. Reports are arriving of serious danger from floods in the Hunter and Manning Rivers, and farther north. Heavy rain has also fallen over the Sydney catchment area, replenishing the city's water supply, which in recent months has been causing the Metropolitan Water Board some anxiety.
