[OUE OWN CORRESPONDENT.] It is expected that work will commence within the next week or two on the reconstruction of the State Miners’ Hall. Tenders are being called for the new building, and these will be considered and a contract let, this week. The new building, which will be built in timber and iron, will [ be 128 ft by 50ft. The hall will seat 700, and will include a dress circle of 25(1 capacity. Modern leather tip-up seats will be fitted, and there will be a dancing space of 75ft x 50ft, the floor being in black pine. A stage, 50 x 20. will be provided, and the interior walls will be lined with T. and G lining, with Oregon three-ply Oft Gin. up the walls. At the front of the building there will be a verandah the full width, and a lounge 40 x 16 with ladies’ and men’s cloak rooms annexed. A supper room, 26 x 16, and kitchenette 16 x 10, along the northern wall will be used for dances and an office and typist’s room will also be provided. When completed, a talking picture machine will be installed' and the building will have modern ventilation. It will be some five or six months before the new building' will be ready for use, and it should, be a considerable improvement on the old building. I
