During the last six months of the trade dispute between Australia, and Japan, Australian exporters lost six million pounds, compared with the previous year, owing to the operation of the Japanese embargo, but Australian imports from Japan remained almost at the same level as in 1935. Australian wool exports declined from £6,464,358 to £15,345. Australian currency imports from Japan in the tinal six monahs of the dispute were valued' at £2,504,616, compared with £2,679,083 for the corresponding period of 1935.
