Williams left this morning, on a visit to Christchurch. Mrs W. Mann was a passenger by to-day’s express for Christchurch. Mr and Mrs R. Dawber left to-day, for Christchurch. ■ Mr T. Beirne left”this morning, on a holiday visit to Hornby. Mr W. McKay, of New Brighton, is visiting his son, in Greymouth. Mrs J. E. Sharpe of Christchurch, is a visitor to Blackball, and is the guest of Mr and Mrs W. Goodall.

Mr O. C. Joyce, Publie Trust Department, Greymouth, left to-day, on transfer to Christchurch. He was accompanied by Mrs Joyce.

Chief Detective J. Bruce Young, of Dunedin, will arrive by this afternoon’s express, and will be the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Moss, Winnie Street.

Mr A. Smith, manager of the Ironbridge Mine, Denniston, has been appointed manager of the Liverpool Mine, Rewanui. Mr Smith will take up his duties next month.

Mrs Watt, the founder of the Women’s Institute, will visit Greymouth next Friday, as the guest of the West Cbast Federation. She will be accompanied by Mrs W. Deans, of Darfield, Dominion President of the Women’s Institutes.

A Wanganui Press Association telegram announced the death of Mr. Charles Duncan Hay-Campbell, a son of the late Major-General T. Campbell of the Royal Artillery. Mr. Hay-Camp-bell was born in Edinburgh 69 years ago. After a successful career in the Old Country he came to the Dominion in 1915 as art master at the Wanganui Collegiate School and retired in 1930.
