MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEEI
At the weekly meeting of the Wes Coast Rugby Union’s Managemen Committee last evening, there were present: Messrs. A. A. Adams (Pre sident), J. Guy, T. Mclntosh, F. Eggle ton, T. O’Donnell, W. G. Scott, C. R. Rollinson. F. W. Baillie, T. P. Ryan, and J. E. Joyce (secretary). M. P. Connolly was granted a transfer from Excelsiors to Star Club. Advice was received that the weight limit for the Seddon Shield districts primary schools’ tournament would be 8 stone 7 pounds, the same as last year.
The Canterbury Union advised that the Sydenham Club would play Westland, at Hokitika, on Saturday next.— It was decided to alter the senior fixtures to enable the fixtures to he played.
FIXTURES FOR SATURDAY. Senior: Cobden v. Stars, Rugby Park No. 1, at 3 p.m. (W. McLaughlin). Umpires, Messrs Reynolds and Cook. Blaketown V. United, Park No. 2, at 3 p.m. (F. J. Tempero), Messrs Smith and McKay. Junior: Celtic v. Cobden, Park No. 1, 1.30 (C. H. Hoskin); United v. Stars. Park No. 2, 1.30 (J. O’Donnell); Blaketown, a bye. Third grade: Star v. Celtic, at Cobden, 3 p.m. (D. Jarvis); Blaketown v. Technical, at Cobden, 1.30 (D. Jarvis); Cobden a bye. Fourth grade: Tech. A. v. United, at Tech, ground, 1 p.m. (N. Eggleton); Cobden v. Tech. 8., at Tech., 2 p.m. (N. Eggleton); Main v. Blaketown, at Tech., 3 p.m. (D. Adams). WESTLAND V. SYDENHAM. The Westland representative team to play Sydenham at Hokitika on Saturday, has been chosen as follows:— Full-back, L. Agnew; three-quarters, E. Pfahlert, J. Smith, P. Muir: fiveeighths, J. West. B. Roberts; halfback. M. Davidson. Forwards: M. Kelly, B. Kelly, D. Thorpe, J. Aitken, R. King (capt.l, J. Walker, P. Garden, J. Anderson. Emergencies: E. Boyd, L. Moraan (backs), D. Chinn and Buckingham (forwards). INANGAHUA SUB-UNION. The weekly meeting of the Inangahua Rugby Sub-Union was held last evening. Mr J. Crossman presided’ over the following members: —Messrs Barnett, Wililamson, Bradley, Archer, Broadhurst and Collins. • The Post and Telegraph Rugby team wrote, asking if it were possible to play a game with a senior club team on August 2 oi* 9.—Resolved to notify the P. and T. of willingness to meet P. and T. on August 2, with the team that has a bye on that date. Referees’ reports were received. Clubs were given permission to play in the seven-a-side competition at Westport on August 1, providing club fixtures are not interfered with. Fixtures for next week-end: Senior —Waratahs v. Ikamatua, at Reefton, 2.45 p.m.; referee, Mr Yellowlees. Juniors —Waratahs v. Cronadun, at Reefton, at 1.30; referee, Mr Stevens.
WANGANUI V. WAIKATO
WANGANUI, July 21.
Wanganui defeated Waikato to-day by seventeen points to nine. The winners made a wondeful recovery in the second spell, after being behind by nine to nil.
