[PEB PRESS ASSOCIATION.]

CHRISTCHURCH, July 21

In a scheduled ten round professional welterweight boxing contest tonight, W. Carey 10.5 (Canterbury) knocked out R. Morrighan 10.7 (Marlborough) in the tenth round. Carey was the more aggressive fighter, and was ahead on points when Morrighan was felled with a right hook to the solar plexus. The crowd protested noisily. They evidently were under the impression that the blow was low.
