The King held an afternoon reception in the grounds of Buckingham Pitlace, at which 500 debutantes were presented. Full Court mourning ended yesterday, and this was the first social function to be held by the King at, Buckingham Palace, since the death of King George. The reception will rank as a Court, for those ladies who were presented. Altogether, 1200 people were invited, and large crowds gathered outside Buckingham Palace, to witness the arrival of the King's guests.
IRISH DECISION
LONDON. July 21
The “Daily Herald” says that Mr de Valera has decided that the Irish Free State cannot officially participate in the Coronation, and has therefore declined the invitation to appoint a representative to the Coronation Commission.
KING'S HOLIDAY

It is now stated that the King will not travel from Vimy on Sunday next io Cannes, as originally arranged. After the unveiling of the Canadian War Memorial, he will return to London for a few days, and will then go direct to Cannes.
KING GEORGE MEMORIAL
RUGBY, July 20
The King George V. National Memorial Fund to-day totalled £175,728, including a donation of £14,058 from members of the Stock Exchange.
