NAZIS AT DANZIG
OPPOSITION TERRORISM? [by CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] (Received June 15, 3 p.m.) LONDON, June 14. “The Telegraph’s” Danzig correspondent says: Anxiety is growing after the death of a Nazi during a fight, when the Nazis attempted to break up an opposition political meeting, in which over fifty were injured. Foerster, the Nazi leader, and virtual political dictator, in Danzig, issued a proclamation blaming the Opposition leaders, “whom I ,am obliged to tolerate under the international statute.” He added, speaking as though Germany's might is behind him, that he will not permit the Germans at Danzig to be stirred up by these corrupters of the people. “Our Fuhrer shall not be insulted. Wo will ruthlessly oppose the Opposition’s terrorism, and will not allow ourselves to bo attacked. ’l’lie lives of our men fighting lor honest aims and high ideals of a great free Germany are more valuable than those treacherous subversive agitators who hate the Fatherland.” The Opposition points out that they cannot have established terror, as the Nazis possess all the power, and also control the police and their own uniformed organisations.
