WRESTLING

TO-NIGHT’S CONTEST.

Thrills in plenty are promised patrons of the wrestling contest in the Greymouth Town Hall, to-night, when King Elliott, the second New Zealander to make a name lor himself in the mat game, will oppose Joe Kopach "Woods, of the United States, in a professional contest, scheduled for eight ten-minute rounds. These men are particularly vjell matched, and as both are spectacular characters in the ring, a bright contest is assured. Elliott did not do particularly well last season, but he was then young in the game, and a hard campaign, which he recently carne through in the States, immediately prior to coming to his home country for the present season, has put the finishing touches to his undoubted natural ability. Elliott has a flair for the spectacular, and his use of the flying tackle which won and retained the championship of the world for Gus Sonnenbu'rg, is bound to provide thrills.

Woods, -who was previously a firstclass boxer, has a splendid record, and in his matches in New Zealand this season has built up a reputation as a fast, clever matman, liable at any time to turn on something unexpected. The match, to-night, promises to make an auspicious opening for the Greymouth season, and the records of the two men should ensure a packed house.

Amateur bouts will precede the principal contest.
