CO-OPERATIVE MINERS

■ UNION FORMED. A meeting was held last evening of the workers of the co-operative mines in the State Mines district, to discuss the formation of a union. Eleven parties were represented. Two members of the newly-formed Co-operative Coal Miners’ Association attended. It was decided to form a union to be called the Runanga Co-operative Employees’ Industrial Union of Workers, to be affiliated to the United Mine Workers of New Zealand.
