PALESTINE DEVELOPMENTS
[BY CABLE —PRESS assn. —COPYRIGHT.] (Italv Mav 11, 10 a.m.) LONDON, May 10. Jewish and Arab antipathy in Palestine is attributable to the great increase in the Jewish population since the war. The “News-Chronicle” says: Powerful Arabs, who ar? leading the country, side strike, issued a categorical demand for the cessation of Jewish immigration, and also threatened non-pay-ment or taxes, as a political weapon. The ratio of Arabs to Jews was eight to one in 1910, now it is four to one, and is still'decreasing. Jewish immigration is limited to LfMOO annually, exclusive of those bringing in £l,OOO.
