[FEB PRESS ASSOCIATION.]

PORTER INJURED.

CHRISTCHURCH, March 13.

Arthur Lightfoot, of Papanui, a porter at the Christchurch railway station, was taken to the Christchurch Hospital this afternoon, suffering from injuries to his back, caused by a fall in the station yard.

OLD HOME DESTROYED. CHRISTCHURCH, March 13.

Stoke Grange homestead, Springbank, occupied by Mr. C. J. McGloin, was destroyed by fire this afternoon. Before the estate was acquired by the Government subdivision, it was the home of the late Sir Charles and Lady Campbell.

MAISEY STILL AT LARGE. MASTERTON, March 13. At a late hour to-night, no trace had been found of Stanley Charles Maisey, for whom an extensive police search has been carried’ out since Thursday morning. Maisey is wanted by the police in connection with the shooting affray at Dalefield, as the result of which Maisey’s father-in-law, Anthony Conwell, is in hospital with a bulelt wound in the jaw. A fairly large party of police is still in the district, and a police net has been spread throughput the Wellington district. It is now considered certain that the wanted man travelled to Wellington by a service car on Thursday morning, but afer he left the car at Featherston Street, he completely disappeared. The condition of Conwell remains satisfactory.
