MR. CUNNINGHAM'S PROMOTION [per prers association.] WELLINGTON, November 8. The Union Steam Ship Coy., announce the following changes:— Mr. J. N. Greenland, Manager at Auckland, is to be Assistant-General Manager. Mr. C. B. V. Wheeler, General Traffic Manager is to be Manager at Auckland. Mr. J. H. Gilbert. Manager at Dunedin. is to be General Traffic Manager. Mr. W. B. Cunningham,' Manager at Gi'eymouth, is to be Manager at Dunedin. , * \ Mr. S. J. Davis, Wharf Overseer, at Auckland, is to be Manager at Greymouth. , i t ■ - t ' MR. CUNNINGHAM’S CAREER ' Mr. Cunningham has been manager of the Greymouth branch for the past fifteen years. Te is a native of Dunedin, and joined the company as a junior in the Wellington office, in 1898. He was at sea for 14 years, in the Australian and New Zealand services, and was on 22 different steamers in that period. He was purser on the s.s. Mapourika, when that vessel was on the passenger run to Greymouth, and his last vessel was the s.s. Maunganui, on which he was purser. He has also been stationed in the Dunedin and Lyttelton offices, being manager of the latter branch before coming to Greymouth. Mr. Cunningham will probably leave for Dunedin about the end of next week. His successor, Mr. S. J. Davis, has been as-sistant-manager at Auckland, and acted as relieving manager at Greymouth, while Mr. Cpnningjiam was on annual, leave recently.
