McAlpine will take place on Monday, was met this morning, by members of the staff, and presented with a suite of furniture. The presentation was made by the District hfngifieer, Mr R. Trevor. Smith, who wished Mr Matheson and his bride-to-be all health and happiness. Other officers of the Department also spoke, and Mr Matheson suitably responded.' Mr W. Chetwynd, Lands and Deeds Office, Hokitika, who has been transferred, on promotion, to . Wellington,, was farewelled this morning, by the legal firms of Greymouth. The presentation of a wallet of notes was made by Mr T. P. Ryan, who thanked Mr Chetwynd for the assistance he had always given to Greymouth legal firms.
