CHATHAM CUP SEMI-FINAL. Soccer fans have a special treat in store for them to-morrow, when the Millerton “All Blacks” try conclusions with Canterbury’s premier team, Western A., at Victoria Park. Sbccer has had a bad year in the Buller, but the All Blacks have profited by the misfortunes of the other clubs, and are fielding a stronger side than ever. Western A. are reported to be a strong combination, and are confident of being the Chatham Cup finalists. It requires only favourable weather for a thrilling contest. "Whatever the conditions, however, a fast, hard ad exciting struggle can be confidently perdicted’. The All Blacks have ten Buller reps, in their team. They have been previously the champion team of the South Island twice, but were defeated each time in the final at the Basin Reserve, Wellington, by North Island teams. Western A. have six Canterbury reps, and one ex-Westland rep. in their team. G. Roberts, the captain, and a Canterbury rep., is unable to
play, having had two lingers amputated last week. The teams will be: Millerton: —Archibald: Anderson,
White; Robertson, T. Blythe, Newman; Taylor, Orman. Tug. Blythe, Trotter, Scott. Western A:—Jno. White; Cawthrey, McMillan; Henderson. Gordon, E. Ellis; S. Ellis, G. Ellis, Smith. W. White, Ives. An interesting curtain-raiser is being provided by the Town v. Country match, and patrons will be given a good opportunity to observe how local players measure up to the standards set in other centres.
