LYTTELTON BY-ELECTION

LABOUR CANDIDATE.

[PEE PRESS ASSOCIATION.]

CHRISTCHURCH, June 14.

' The Labour Party candidate for the Lyttelton by-election has not yet been chosen. There, is ground for belief that Mr T. H. : McCombs, the only son of Mrs McCombs," will be chosen. The selection, however, will be made by the National Executive of the Labour Party at Wellington on Monday.

It is said, that Mr McCombs has such heavy ’support in the electorate that it will be difficult for the Executive to prefer, any other candidate. Two. others are believed to be in the running for nomination. They are Rev. J. K. Archer’ and Mr J. Mathieson.
