NEGRO’S NEW RECORDS.

VANCOUVER. May 25. A message from Annarbor, in Michigan, says that Jesse Owens, of Ohio State University, a Negro star, broke three world’s records, and tied with a fourth world record at the thirty-fifth Western Conference track and field championships. ■_ He established a new broad aump record of 26 feet 8 inches, thereby surpassing the performance of Chomei Nambu, of Japan, in 1931, by 6 1-8 inches. Owens won the low hurdles in 22.6, seconds, as compared with the recognised mark of 23 seconds. He also won the 220yds dash in 20.3 seconds, which is three-tenths of a second faster than the recognised n ] won the hundred yards dash in 9.4 seconds, thus tieing with Wykoff’s accepted world record. LOVELOCK’S WIN. LONDON, May 25. At White City, in the Polytechnic Harriers meeting, Lovelock won the milo in 4.13 4-5, beating R. H. Thomas’s record for the meeting by five seconds.
