Underground ambulances which can be brought to the surface on the pressure of a lever are shortly to be provided in the streets of Berlin.

They will be connected with telap.hone cabins of n new and roomy type. Should an accident occur in the neighboui hood a handle is pulled down in the cabin and a small lift rises from a space below. It contains a folding handcart on which a fit.ietcher is mounted, and also a large assortment of medicaments, bandages and other first-aid equipment. The sides of the cabin will serve to exhibit advertisements and theatre and cinema programmes, whilst a lighted Red Cross at the top will indicate its purpose.
