A team from tho Blackball Oddfellows’ Tennis Club journeyed to Taylorville on Sunday afternoon, to play a match against the Brunner Tennis Cluht The match was not completed, on account of ocacsional showers. Four sets of mixed doubles were played. Blackball winning by 21 games to 13 games and 3 sets out of 4. The following are the results (Blackball players being mentioned I first: —
Mixed Doubles: Mrs Wright aud Rarity beat Miss McMahon aud Myers 6/2. Mrs McGregor aud Mr Wright lost to Mrs Wilkinson aud McDonald 3/6. Miss Robiusou and Mr Sumner beat Miss Gaiusfoid aud Mills 6/2. Miss Robinson and Mr L. Ellsmore beat Miss U. Fentiman and Mr L. Smith 6/3.
The ladies’ doubles had just commenced when rain prevented further play. Afternoon tea was served to tho visitors at the residence of Mrs tV. Dan do.
Ou Saturday evening, after a successful sports meeting, the Brunner Spoils Club held an enjoyable dance in the Wallsend Miners’ Hall. Miss Watson supplied the music and Mr T. Morgan carried out the duties of M.C. There was a largo crowd present.
