BANK BANDITS SHOT. (Press Assn—Copyright.) MONTREAL, December 28. When he was herded into a vault as a customer, in a bank hold-up, a policeman, E. Desnioreaux, who was in plain clothes, snatched a revolver and killed one bandit, and also wounded a second. A third escaped. “L’ATLANTIQUE” FIRE. PARIS, December 29. The Court dismissed the appeal of the insurers of the liner “L’Atlantique,” destroyed by fire. The French and foreign salvage firms which took the “L’Atlantique” in tow, after her abandonment, have lodged a claim for fifty million francs from the insurers.
