South Australia, Victoria, and inland districts of New South Wales are now in 'the grip of a heat Wave. Temperatures in excess of a hundred degrees are numerous in this State, the highest reading being at White Cliffs, where 112 degrees was recorded. The highest recording in Victoria was at Redcliffs, 116 degrees. Blinding duststorms occurred in the Mallee <&nd Wimmera districts, while at Donald, much damage was done by a cyclone, roofs and verandahs being blown away, trees uprooted .and fences flattened. Adelaide’s temperature was 101 degrees, while Renmark registered 112. Houses were unroofed and sheds and telephone poles blown down by a gale at Booleroo, Port Germain, and Laura. /*' In other northern towns, business is suspended owing to the storm, and the darkness caused by clouds of dust.
