REEFTON NOTES

[our own correspondent.] REEFTON .October 11. Mr G. Bierwirth, who has been in Christchurch for some months, undergoing a course of treatment for eye trouble, has returned to Reefton. The marriage was solemnised at St. John’s Anglican Church, by Rev. W. Bell, yesterday afternoon, of Mary Evelyn, only daughter of Mr and Mrs Joseph Bolitho, of Blackspoint, and Jack, third son of Mrs and the late Mr John Banks, of Reefton. The bride was gowned in white windswept satin, the frock being made on straight lines, with a round neck, trimmed with silver, and the fulllength skirt was puffed at the knees, and carried a frill. A long embroidered tulle veil was held in place with a diadem of orange buds, and a dainty shower bouquet of cream and pink spring flowers completed a charming tailette. A cousin of the bride, Miss Anne Fitzgerald, attended as maid, and her frock was of green crinkle crepe, with shoes to tone. She carried a shower bouquet of sweet peas. Flora Nichol and Vahnai Bolitho, two wee tots, attended as flower girls, one being frocked in lemon satin and the other in salmon pink. Mr Jim Banks, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. After the ceremony, a reception was held. The newly-married | couple later travelled to Nelson, en route to Canterbury.
