[our own correspondent.] The monthly meeting of the School Committee was held in the schoolroom last evening, Mr A. H. McKane, chairman, presiding. There were also present Mrs Burrell, Messrs J. S. Ford, F. Baillie, F. Eggleton, and H. Spencer (Secretary). The Inspector’s report on the school was received as satisfactory, and handed to the headmaster to place among the records. Accounts amounting to £4/0/9 were passed for payment. ' The headmaster was empowered to procure a .duplicator for school use. The matter of obtaining an electric cleaner was discussed anti it was decided to await the raising of the necessary funds. It was decided to call a meeting of ladies to arrange a shop day in aid of committee funds. The procuring of the necessary timber for the drainage shaft was left in the hands of Mr Eggleton. The Headmaster reported that the attendance was very poor. A fresh epidemic of measles had broken out. affecting the attendance to the extent of nearly 20- per cent. . In connection with the visit of the Duke of Gloucester, committeemen indicated that they would assist in the marshalling of the children. It was, resolved that prizes and certificates be awarded as in former years.
