Moore will leave on Monday, op a holiday visit to Wellington. ' Mr. J. Mahoney left, this morning, for Christchurch. Mr. and Mrs. D. Bamford left, today, on return to Christchurch. Mrs. C. Sampson returned by this morning’s express for Christchurch. Miss Lesley Marshall will leave on Monday, on a visit to Melbourne. Mr and Mrs C.G. Moore will leave this evening, on a holiday visit to Wellington. Miss M. Washer was a passenger by this morning’s express for Christchurch. Mrs. M. A. Crocome, of Musselburgh, attained her hundredth birthday to-day.—Press Assn. A motion of sympathy was passed at. a meeting of the Greymouth Licensed Victuallers’ Executive, yesterday, with the relatives of the late Cavaliere G. Perotti. Guests at Revington’s include; — Mr W. A. Flavell (Dunedin), Mr and Mrs- Leggate (Christchurch), Mr E. P. Clark (Sydney), Mr W. Richards (Wellington). A London cablegram stated that surprisingly few cricketers attended Mr Jardine’s wedding to Miss Peat at St. George’s, Hanover Square, yesterday, although many followers of the game crowded the gallery and the church pavement.

The death occurred yesterday, after a serious illness, of Mr. John Smith Nelson, Headmaster of the Waihopai School, aged 44. He served with the Canterbury Mounted Rifles at the landing of Gallipoli. He was a member of the Southland Acclimatisation Society, and a past Master of the Tarangatura Lodge and Lodge St. John. He was also a member of the Southern Club. —Press Assn.

At the funeral of the late John Thimbleby Jones, at Karoro cemetery yesterday afternoon, the pall bearers were Messrs. R. Cooper and E. Sumner (Borough Council employees) and A. M. Jamieson and W. Rathbun (United Football Club). The Borough office was closed as a mark of respect to the memory of the deceased. Wreaths and other tributes were received from: Mavor and Councillors, Maintenance Staff Grey Borough Council, Office Staff Borough Council, West Coast Rugby Union, United Football Club, Mr. T. P.
