KINGSFORD SMITH. [by CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] SYDNEY, September 11. Completing a record-breaking flight from Perth, begun at dawn, Sir C. Kingsford Smith in the “Lady Southern Cross,” landed at the Mascot aerodrome, at 4.17 this afternoon. His time between Perth and Adelaide was about six hours. His average speed was 233 miles an hour, while at one stage, for 44 minutes, he maintained a speed of 272 miles per hour. He had a following wind most of the way. He rarely flew below a height of nine thousand feet. Sir C. Kingsford’s Smith actual flying time between Perth and Sydney, a distance of 2.175 miles, was nine hours, thirty-two minutes. Kingsford Smith refuelled at Adelaide, and not at Forest, as had been anticipated.
LONDON—AUSTRALIA. SYDNEY, September 11. The time-table of the air mail service, London-Australia, is announced. The service, which is to be a weekly one, will begin from London on December 8, and the mail arrives at Brisbane on December 20. The first outward mail leaves Brisbane on December 10, and reaches London on December 24. The postal authorities here have made arrangements for the issue of a new 1/6 stamp in connection with the inauguration of the service. DUTCH ENTRANTS. (Received September 12, 10 a.m.) AMSTERDAM, September 11. There will be only two Dutch entrants for the air race, a Douglas plane piloted by Parmentier, and a Pander, piloted by Astet and Geysendorffer. No Fokkers are participating;
