REEFTON NOTES
(OUR own correspondent.] REEFTON, September 5. Mr Hugh Patterson, of Gisborne, is visiting Reefton. The marriage was celebrated at the Methodist Church, Blackspoint, yesterday afternoon, of Doreen, second daughter of Mr and Mrs W. Watts, of Blackspoint, and Reginald, eldest son of Mr and Mrs Donald Black, of Blackspoint. The Rev. A. P. Dorrian officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, was gowned in an ankle-length frock of white crepe satin, with a coronet of orange blossom, which held a beautiful veil in place. Her bouquet was freesias and gypsophila. Misses Marie and Joan Sutherland attended the bride, and they were attired in frocks of salmon pink and apple green organdie andj carried bouquets of freesias and anemones. Mr J. Gebbie, of Greymouth, was best. man. Mr E. Black was groomsman. A reception was afterwards held at Black’s Hall. The newly-married couple later left by private, car fop Nelson. the bride’s travelling frock being a smart suit of bottle green, with hat and shoes to tone.
Several lads arc training for an appearance at the boxing tourney at Greymouth on Saturday.
