RECOVERY MAINTAINED. [PKB PRESS‘ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, September. 5. Another indication of the trend towards better times was given in the announcement by the Chairman of the Railways Board, Mr Sterling, that the express train service between Dunedin and Invercargill will be daily again except on Sundays,, each way as from Monday. The financial results of the railway working for the four-weekly period ended August 18 was announced by Mr Sterling to-night. For the four weeks there was an ipcrease in gross revenue of £33,151, and an increase in expenditure of £23,523, resulting in an inrease in net revenue for the period of £9628. For the portion of the financial year from April 1 to August 18, the gross revenue inci eased by £142,045. Expenditure increased by £89,136, resulting in an increase in net revenue for that portion of the financial year of £52.,905, as compared with the corresponding portion of the last financial year.
