WAGE RESTORATION
CHRISTCHURCH FIRM’S DECISION [PEB PBESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, September 4. The employees of Bunting and Co., Ltd., brush manufacturers, have had restored to them another portion of their 10 per cent, wages cut. In April last per cent, was restored, retrospective for one year, and at the end of last week another 21 per cent, was restored. EMPLOYERS’ OFFER. CHRISTCHURCH, September 4. An almost general increase of 5 per cent, in wages was offered by the employers’ assessors in the Conciliation Council proceedings to-day in the North Canterbury Timber Yards, Sawmills and Coal Yards Employees’ dispute. An agreement was reached 011 all points, except two, and these will be considered by the employers before final proceedings on September 13. RUNANGA BOROUGH COUNCIL. The Runanga Borough Council, last evening, decided to restore the ten per cent, wage cut to Council employees.
