GREY ASSN. EXECUTIVE. A meeting of the Executive of the Greymouth Boxing Association was held last evening, Mr A. Beban presiding. The Chairman expressed regret at the serious illness of Mi* Kim Williams, and it was decided to forward a letter of sympathy to Mrs Williams expressing the good wishes of the Association for Mr. Williams’ speedy recovery. it was stated that in order to conform with the police and New Zealand Boxing Council regulations, the Association, and not the Karoro Club alone, would have to conduct the championships on Saturday night, and Messrs F. H. Denton, F. Costello, H. Moore, and F. W. Baillie (secretary) were deputed to supervise the contests, as Association officials. It was decided that the Executive attend the championship tournament, and select a. probable team to represent the West Coast at the Dominion championships at Hastings this year. Gn ihe suggestion of the secretary, it was decided to endeavour to have a team of Canterbury amateurs visit Greymouth at an early date, to meet a West Coast team. It was also resolved to hold an amateur tourney among Coast boxers. The secretary reported that he had made application for a bout, between Dal Costa, the Australian, and Cyril Hurne, of Wellington, at Greymouth, on Friday, September 21. It was also decided, in the matter of coming bouts, to endeavour to arrange a heavyweight contest between Ray Nicoll, and Maurice Strickland, and to approach the New Zealand Wrestling Union for a good wrestling bout. It was decided to make application for the next New Zealand amateur

At the Stadium, the lightweight championship title was won by Hej?b Bishop (9.7 A who knocked out Jimmy Kelso (9.8) in the thirteenth .round, after administering severe punishment.
